The internship experience at Vivo Surgical has been enjoyable and enriching under the guidance of Justin and the engineering team. The structured program gave us direction but also enough freedom to explore our own solutions. It was truly an eye-opening experience to get first hand experience working with cutting edge MedTech. To top it all off, everyone at the company is warm and friendly, making the interns feel right at home from day one. With something new and challenging everyday, work has become something that I genuinely look forward to.

My internship at Vivo Surgical was a fulfilling experience that allowed me to gain deeper insight and greater exposure to the engineering and design considerations when designing medical devices. As a Product Development Intern, I was tasked with improving the company's 3D printing capabilities which allowed me to better understand a 3D printer's working mechanisms and practice skills such as 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and coding to perform both hardware and software upgrades to the printer. The senior engineers were very knowledgeable and willing to teach me various tips and techniques whenever I faced any difficulties, allowing me to improve on my knowledge and technical skills. Overall, my experience with the Vivo Surgical team was a truly valuable one.

My computer/electrical engineer internship at Vivo Surgical designing PCB was an exhilarating journey in robotics surgery, a field that I had no prior experience beforehand. During my internship, I improved in skills, such as selecting IC driver chips for haptics applications, customizing and troubleshooting PCB design, and implementing control algorithms with microcontrollers. I worked closely with Justin, Esther, and Richard, who supportively provided me autonomy as well as sufficient guidance to help me have my own approach in designing hardware electrical systems and software solutions in this foreign area of the medical industry. It was truly a fulfilling experience to be on board with the Vivo Surgical team.

Albeit being a short internship, I managed to delve into the world of marketing and sales and acquired plenty of insights on CRM tools that can be employed to build database & manage marketing campaigns. During this stint, I had the opportunity to up-skill my photoshop skills, photo editing skills and curate self-designed brochures, weekly LinkedIn posts and newsletter for Vivo Surgical. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity given as I have gained an immense amount of industry knowledge, and had a first-hand taste of the rigour of the startup industry. This opportunity was only made possible with the guidance of the amazing mentors at Vivo Surgical and I truly enjoyed my brief stint here.

During my internship at Vivo Surgical, I worked closely with Janani and Kevin on the branding of the company. Although I was new to the medical industry, they were always responsive to any questions I had and did not hesitate to give me feedback on adapting the design to the market. Overall, I had a great experience working for the company.
